Heard and seen pics of whippet taking fallow does

Must be bloody big whippets
not really. Fallow doe, obviously it was a struggle but still took them from time to time. I'm not saying go get a whippet to do it, that would be foolish

I love whippets, the skinny, fragile, useless little feckers! No good for feck all Lol

whppets especaily pure ones are very limited as deer dogs and on a fair course would struggle , ive saw good dogs sometimes hardly put a bend in them to big a start , so would like to see the whippet take a good wild fallow on his own patch

Sure?

If a jack russel can catch a roe. . . . surely a 22" whippet could get lucky in a fallow doe?

Lucky .... Once maybe ... But regularly take them ? No .......

I seen smallish dogs like whippets made a nuisance of themselves on large quarry and cause the animal enough bother to make a mistake and loss its footing and hang on long enough until the cavalry arrived to finish the job

But without weight behind it your chances are decided on luck more than ability ,

100% agree.

No one in their right mind would get a whippet as a dog for chasing fallow! However, I would imagine that there are people who own large type whippets who lived in areas where there were a lot of fallow and those whippets may have on occasion got lucky and mugged one. Just like I wouldn't go get a 22/23 " dog for regularly running big deer, yet i've seen some small lurchers take them well and plenty on here talk of similar.
