TOMO 29,224
Not sure of the answer Bob,,,ruling out Mixy of course,,,,I've had them on the hills befor when there's been deep snow,,,so the reason was obviouse....no food... But like you we catch a few like that,,in fact Sunday just gone,,I had 2 out of 17 that were skinny,,just like they had Mixy for a week or two,,,,but they didn't have Mixy ,,,nor the scars you get from rabbits that have survived Mixy .... It could of course be vhd,,,but without getting them checked we would never know... The other thing to remember is,,like any species ,,,there's other things they can catch without it being Mixy or vhd,,,cancers of course,,and I dare say a hole host of other nastys Quote Link to post

Somewhereyournot 1,117
Rabbits don't just feed on grass, they feed on bark etc aswell. All the mixy ones Iv ever had seen swollen not skinny. Made it might be due to sleeping out of the flooded burrows and burning more energy lol f**k knows 1 Quote Link to post

Made it might be due to sleeping out of the flooded burrows and burning more energy lol f**k knows I think it depends what stage of Myxi they are at? I've caught them early on with just the early signs of Myxi and they seem to be swollen, but then later on when the disease takes effect and they are on their last legs I've caught them like skeletons. Horrible disease. But I agree with what your saying, it seems to be due to the water in this case. One way or another. Quote Link to post

mhopton 807
The few skinny rabbits I've had all seams to be fit and healthy but when I've dropped the guts they were riddled with worms Quote Link to post

Maximus Ferret 2,065
Don't rabbits suffer with coccidiosis too? Yes, the young ones can get it quite bad if it's on the ground. Quote Link to post
