dodger 3,589
Walking the dogs earlier when an old boy walked passed n said happy british day, I didn't know what he was on about n didn't wana look like a plank so just replied with the usual mornin, I was wondering what he meant then a while later I passed a country pub with a flier next to today's menue which said british day celebrating all things british, great idea I thought but how come Iv never heard of it before Is it a new thing or is it just celebrated by small pockets in certain parts, should be made more aware of I reckon n started years ago, we don't have the freedom we once did but still plenty of good things about Britain when you think about it..

I see what you're saying with the patron Saints days pal I think it'd be good if more of a deal was made about them too but none of them are for Britain as a whole to be fair, would be nice to have a day that celebrates the achievements of all the British Isles. Gordon Broon can still feck off though

WILF 51,029
I think Great Britain has always thrived on the rivalrys between the various countries that make it up.....it's something unique about us. We are all proud to be what we are but we are also part of a collective......the old EU would love to pull that off but they can't I just think it insults everyone's intelligence when a prat like Brown who was a leading figure in an administration that did more to destroy British Culture than any other drops us a tit bit like "British Day"..........call it what it is, a day all the odd marks can join in with and not insult Allah or Buddah or f***ing Peter Tatchell !! f**k em !
Lenmcharristar 10,337
It's a day to commemorate what Britain used to be before it's turned into Britain akbaristan, how our cowardly leaders have got away with the irreparable damage done to this nation is beyond me. British day should be 1 day a year where traitors should be hanged in public, starting from the top down
