Blackdog92 2,047
How do lads does anyone have a recomendation for wild camping spots? I already do a fair bit in and around the lake district up on the fells and fancied a trip further afeild. Ive often thought about having a trip up to the galloway forest but i would like to know some other options and opinions on places around the country. Atb blackdog92. Blackdog92 2,047
My camping is usually a bit less "gourmet" than what ive seen from sock's camping trips. Is there any tripadviser reviews about his site? Lol

Where are you thinking of going neems? Im not going alone the missus sometimes comes with me or a mate who i do a lot of backpacking and camping with. I know things can turn bad fast i broke my tail bone out on the fell a few years ago it made me bed bound and out of work for a few weeks but the worst bit was the walk/hobble back to the car then drive a couple miles on a rough dirt track till i got on the main roads. neems 2,406
Either on some permission near the dales or a bit more sneakily on some local land. better on permission, you can build a good shelter, make a decent fire and not have to worry about being rudely awakened, but it's a long drive. I remember going to Garelochhead in jockland, and someone (a jock who lives right by and you'd think would know better) jumped off a tree stump onto the ground and just went straight through, ended up stuck almost up to his neck,he'd still be there if we didn't all pull him out lol Edited November 2, 2015 by neems

Bo Duke 420
I can't help it but I hate the term "wild camping" it's just one of those things that niggle me like huntmaster and horseback riding. f***ing off somewhere and sleeping out under the stars is just camping ain't it?. Get yourself off into the Cairngorms, I climbed Ben Macdui earlier in the year and that would be an awesome place to wake up.
