Parabuteos lad 878
No matter how I put this its probably going to put me in a bad light but I don't really care lol My hunting partner has just bought a new pup, I was under the impression the plan was for him to take one dog out with mine one night and the other dog with mine the other night and continue in such way. But now he has it he's said he will be taking them both out at same time to avoid one of them crying while the others out. I'm not into going out with three dogs it's personal preference I prefer to run my dog on as many rabbits as I can and dont see the point in spending more time waiting for my slip than actually running my dog. So my question is how do others manage it without telling me to loosen up lol any tips to stop his pup whining when he takes other dog out and vice versa as he's a good mate and I don't want neither our friendship or sport to suffer? Helpful answers only please no ssip takers Quote Link to post
Dame92 387
Why not go separate roots when out? He go one way, you go the other. Then meet back up? Quote Link to post

Snifferboy 659
I go out with a couple of dogs with other mates with a dog or 2, we either go separate routes around fields or rotate following each other, one dog slipped, catch or not, back, other guy goes in front with his light and dog, slips and so on... Doesn't suit everyone but when you get a good night like it, it's fine... Quote Link to post

Snifferboy 659
Didn't read that properly, didn't realise it was a puppy... Leave it at home to whine if tiring it, occupying it and feeding it don't work... Quote Link to post
Parabuteos lad 878
Better to get your own permission ! Everywhere we go is my permission he ain't got any and those saying go alone, I could do that but it beats point of what I'm trying to achieve as we're good mates Edited October 30, 2015 by Parabuteos lad Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
From day one I have taken mine out separate. Blatantly let one see the other going out with you for a walk. When the pup was 8 weeks old I would take the older bitch out and leave the pup behind. At all times, day or night. And vice versa. Take the pup out for a walk or bring the pup indoors for some family socialising and leave older dog outside in kennel. It's just been the norm from day one. And now I can take either of them lamping or if one is injured it can spend a few nights inside without the other crying in the kennel. 7 Quote Link to post
