neems 2,406
Feck givin to Africa. Far,far too many of them as it is without saving any,I probably would donate to a charity that bought up all the local food and gave it back free on condition the females were sterilised first. MickC 1,825
My money goes on me own family, sorry but people in a Foreign country are no concern of mine. Let there own Leaders sort it out instead of feathering there own nests while the rest of there people suffer.

Blackdog92 2,047
My granadad told me he was in the pub years ago when geldof was first going on about helping africa and someone came upto him with a charity box asking to give money to band aid or what ever it was. And he said to him im not giving a penny because we will give them this money and get them going then they will breed like feck amd there will be an even bigger problem in 20 years. I think he was right.
The Seeker 3,048
The thing is and I'm not defending Bono but who knows how much he donates to charity? He may donate millions a year but choose not to reveal it? I know I couldn't live with myself if I was in his shoes and I didn't.
tsteve9999 456
That's the whole point for me, he could donate hundreds of millions and it wouldn't affect his lifestyle in any way, he'd still be enormously rich. Instead he keeps himself in the limelight, which by happy coincidence makes him richer still and lectures everyone else about the wrongs in the world. The guys already took his money to a tax haven thereby denying his own country the tax he should have paid which could have gone to the poorer people of Ireland. For anyone else to do that I'd say fine, but this guy has spent years sneering at governments for not doing enough to help, then runs off with his own money at the first chance he gets.

MickC 1,825
Donations/Charity's etc does not help the plight in Africa,Band Aid was in 1984 and 31 year later they are still in the same predicament.
Malt 379
I remember my old man getting up to turn the TV over muttering something like "F**k this crap" when there was something on about raising money for Africa when I was a kid. I was taken aback at the time and gave him a bollocking. He then said something which has stuck with me ever since; "Charity begins at home.. Plenty of people in this country need help.."
