Hello all,

I am currently looking for a job or apprenticeship within the shooting industry or pest control industry.

I have level three diploma in countryside management' modules include, shoot management, game rearing, deer management, vertebrae pest and predator control as well as conservation subjects.

I also have addition qualifications PA1, PA6 pesticide nap sack spraying and chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting.

I also hold a full UK driving licence and I am competent at driving tractors and all terrain vehicles.

I have had experience at working on a 6,000 bird shoot as a volunteer under keeper working independently carrying out the tasks at hand and have worked throughout the summer on a game farm.

I am twenty years old and based in the Buckinghamshire area but willing to travel for the opportunity.

Many thanks

Tom

Hi mate, good little advert of yourself. You didn't by any chance go Moulton College? I did the same course at Moulton college 7 years ago, started up a small round of maintenance jobs on days off and

Thank you chicken_man! Appreciate the comment

You sound very employable on paper mate but I've always said you learn more hands on the job but I hope it all goes well for you mate while you are young, good luck and like said try a few doors then g

If you not fixed up by new year try and find a job on a gamefarm , it's good for further experience and gives you a chance to tap into the grapevine.

I put an advert in the shooting times one spring and I had about 8 replies and offers.....that was nearly 20 years back mind

Hi mate, good little advert of yourself. You didn't by any chance go Moulton College? I did the same course at Moulton college 7 years ago, started up a small round of maintenance jobs on days off and weekends. I then did the land management degree and started up on my own and haven't looked back! I undertake all aspects of land management from mowing, tree work , domestic commercial and agricultural fencing and pest control. Got so much work on I'm seven days at week at the moment. If your passionate enough and are willing to get your name out there you will always find work.

Just my opinion but I would perhaps look at part time work and try start up on your own, nothing like being your own boss, hard work but bloody rewarding!!!

If you need any help or would like to talk things through drop me a message.

All the best

That's very good advice and encouraging, plus a kind offer of advice.

Take him up on it!

Yes I was on the course with Dan, he's doing well aswell working for a consultancy company.if I get any jobs I need a hand on I'll let you know. I got some flyers made up on vistaprint only cheap to do and look professional and have got me a good amount of work. If you do a good job one job will always lead to another. For example I went to a mole job, last week, handed them a flyer as I turned up and he saw I did squirrel control and tree work so now have 7 fruit trees to prune aswell as his squirrels.
