mackem 30,063
The filipinos caught him easily, they know the jungle like the back of their hand, they are in conflict daily with NPA,abu sayaf and their splinter groups etc, plus every man and his dog out there is their eyes and ears,he was hampered by a camera man but still he would have needed to pull something out of the bag to evade them.

Silversnake 1,099
Would be relatively easy to stay off the grid with a good network of friends who are on the grid, not so easy to do it alone or in a foreign country where you don't speak the language. Jason Bourne was pretty good though, even without a memory!

Jason Bourne was pretty good though, even without a memory! Some countries its not so difficult, plenty disappear in places like holland or spain, but as you rightly pointed out you need a network of contacts, and a grab-bag filled with cash always helps ALA kenny knoye or someone similar. I know a gentleman at the moment,he has been languishing in a foreign nick for a shade under 2 years fighting extradition to the states, changed his name here and left the country as he had a few charges pending, went to asia met a girl, settled, has a few kids, built a really nice house in the arse end of nowhere on a white sand beach, after maybe 5 he had a really bad idea to try and get a permanent residents permit. While his paperwork was going through it was discovered the yanks wanted him,he could have stayed on his beach for years save that one small slip-up. But the program is only to stay free for 48 hours? It will be interesting to watch.

Jason Bourne had the help of his girlfriend, a flat in Paris, access to firearms, a stash of false identities and piles of assorted currencies....and some awesome scrapping skills......and he's fictional !
