Seen dogs ran for miles and then struggle after 10 hards pushed runs. Not saying yours are like that but I found dogs are very similar to us guys. Like a footballer or boxer wouldnt just run miles for fitness. Muscles work different at different intensities. Its gotta be exercised similar to how the muscle are gonna be used. Reason i like the quad can vary the pace up to there top speed and little short blips of 100meters or so then back to a more runnable trot. Found this better for mine then the long distance bikes.
