To add to the conundrum, she was a Protestant who converted to Catholic !! She is a walking minority !! Lol Il work it out for you will, people from the mainland know if your born in n.I or republic your Irish, simple, but some over here including politicians can't grasp it, lol
Lenmcharristar 10,247
Don't agree with Yanks or I.R.A. killing innocent people,,,,,,,,,,,,We had a good reason to kill British soldiers on Irish soil,,,,,,,,,,,,Brits don't want the north they were going to pull the plug,,,,,,,,,,,we will be a united country in few years,,,,,,,,,,,,cowardly I.R.A,,,,,,, TONY BLAIR said the brits could never defeat the I.R.A.,,,,,,,,you can never call cowardly,,,,,,,,,,you murdered in nearly ever country in the world,,,,,,,but the brits see there wrongs now,,,,,,they have moved on,,,,,,, every one bar you..........theres no chance. Why not not mate, its Ireland after all, an a divided country is not sustainable. It's stupid actually its northern Ireland francie, theres a far bigger majority of unionists than nationalists, and I mean protestant and catholic unionists. Ireland couldn't afford the north, its bankrupt. The jury's out on that one mate, I take it you mean the republic lol the whole thing would have to be redone, but its about both sides coming together, after all were all irish the jurys out on what? the last time I checked northern Ireland was a country in the united kingdom, ive catholic friends and family who would vote to stay in the union. I normally agree with your christanity posts and respect you for being open about your beliefs in god. but this time your talking more Shiite than the blow job king in a gay barWhy am I talking shore mate, just cause a few of your friends an family wa t to stay in the union, doesn't mean everyone does. Ireland would be far better off united, for Catholics an protestants, financely, an for peace, the division is holding us back, we should come together as a Christian nation again. It might be part of the UK, but you an I are Irish mate a few????? feck sake francie your the irish version of ian paisley now, im northern irish, british, you choose what ever makes you happy. Mate its my opinion, that's all, I don't mean to be rude, but Britain is the mainland, n.Ireland as you say is in the UK, not Britain. An that's what I think is still causing division, people calling n.I British when it's clearly not, you only have to look at your passport. I don't want to argue mate so I'll leave it at that. francie, lets just agree to disagree.

That just brought up an old memory,2 old mates of mine one a loyalist from Northern Ireland, the other a bit of a hippy from Ireland always used to argue about this especially after a drink. The Irish lad when he was losing the argument (which he wasn't taking too seriously) always reverted to shouting his Ian Paisley impression over the other lad, feckin hilarious how it wound him up. WILF 49,658
There is peace and it is great for everyone,,,,I drink with protestants that laugh at you lot up the north,,,,,,they see them self as Irish born bred,,,they would love united Ireland.......... That's where a lot of the English bitterness about the troubles comes from mate, we just could not fathom why people who regard as out own people were coming over to the mainland and killing us ?? As an Irish lad said to me the other week, we are all the same people !! Since being here I have made it my business to look at the history a bit more, read up on the great famine, look at the rising and the events around it and the beliefs of the people involved.......but before coming here I never had a clue really. We are not even allowed to do English history in school, never mind Irish........

Lenmcharristar 10,247
Men who stood up and fought for their country and freedom when a foreign power tried to take them over. Cowards according to the Brits who sit by and watch as their country is "taken over by Muslims" You couldn't make it up. Honestly the troubles are over, I don't even understand why it was brought up? It was a shit time with awful crimes committed by both sides, like all war no one came out of it smelling of roses but I think the N.I peace process will be looked on as one of the greatest diplomatic deals of our time. Time to move on I think But it hasn't stopped though, the RIRA still carry on like its business as usual........ Street thugs that latched onto the branding and image of the 'RA, dealing drugs and extorting money from the local populace is hardly "carrying on like business as usual". Business as usual would be bombings on the mainland, assasinations of soldiers, attacks on the garda etc etc... you know, general war like stuff. Maybe you just don't remember what the troubles were really like? You can't do if you're trying to say that it's still "business as usual" in all fairness i never heard the ra involved in drugs loylist yes there up to there neck in it larry, fs
