NEWKID 29,171
Cheers John, it's been really good!! Yeah KD, we stayed in the boathouse you can see in the pic, literally walk out of the door and into the sea!! The double doors which are open in the pic are the front of the store which is full of all the sea toys you could wish for.. The place is in the grounds of a huge Manor House which you can rent for 20 people, it's a stunning place set on its own with no neighbours!! It's called Roshven House.. You can hire the boat house which sleeps 6 separately and it is really nice, not too expensive either.. I'd completely recommend it for a base on the west coast, if you like getting on the sea and walking in the hills you'd love it..
air gun ant 1,666
That place looks awesome mate! But I've just had a look on the website and it says no dogs? We're they ok with you taking the dog, because that would be my ideal little get away! Did you have to paddle out far to reach the fish?
twobob 1,519
We'll I f****d up.. Got my days wrong and we were turfed out of the house yesterday.. I thought we had until today lol.. Never mind, our holidays are always a bit last minute and take it as it comes so a quick pack up and we were in the road ... "Hungry and homeless" as the kids kept telling me lol.... Drove out to Inverness along Loch Ness.. When we got there the World Orienteering Championship was on ( I should've known lol).. Everywhere was full.. Right where to??. The missus and eldest wanted to go to Edinburgh.. So off we set through the Crangorns.. What a cracking drive.. Senn a huge herd of deer coming down a mountainside.. The night before I had the lamp on a herd out if the cottage to show the kids.. Plus a fox working along the beach, they liked seeing it all.. So now I'm in Edingburgh, shops and noise.. Wishing I was back by the coast surrounded by mountains.. But as I keep being reminded.. It's everybody's holiday lol.. Our last night was nice on the water with the kids... you only got the days wrong because of your extra fingers n thumbs

We're they ok with you taking the dog, because that would be my ideal little get away! Did you have to paddle out far to reach the fish? The dogs aren't allowed in the house, there are 2 really nice kennels, heated with water bowls and bedding etc.. I let them sleep in the sealed porch, they had the run of the land and beach in the day when we were about.. Fully recommend it. The fish were caught a fair paddle out, but tight against an island, the beach in front of the house is very shallow for s long way, but you can walk all around the rocks out to decent points with decent depth, I fished mainly out if the kayak.. But I'm sure you would do well with a big of an explore off the shore..
