Recommended Posts

went up the golf course this morning 5 o clock as i couldnt get back to sleep,as i pulled in to the car park there was a crow eating out of fish and chip wrappers,it flew to a near tree as i drove in i drove 30 yards past it wound passenger side window down and waited for it to come back down ,after a few minutes and a bit of shouting its head off it come down for seconds ,gun out of bag i put the cross right on its head 22 accupell straight to the head stone dead,i picked it up walked over to the first green and placed it at the feet of my decoy eagle owl,i stayed in the bushes plenty of cover after 10 minutes a couple of magpies appeared shouting there heads off but were very nervouse.eventually one come in to range i went for a heart shot as it would not keep its head still it rolled over lovely i left it where it was after what seemed ages another crow appeared i took him out at 45 yards with a head shot he would not go to near its dead mates but come close enough to get shot all in all a nice hour out and some food for my sparrow hawks love the rapid

yes mate it is a good decoy as long as you moove it around a bit and dont keep it in the same area after a few kills as the corvids seem to wise up to it

Nice one ftm, the call is a must , i like a bit of blue tac on the owls bill with a length of light fishing line attached and a "few downy feathers" attached to the end, tends to simulate the owl actively feeding and drives the corvids very angrily in, when there`s a dead bird at the owl`s feet.

Gets me how they fall for the downy feather trick with a dead rabbit as well, must look like gut fur to them
