villaman 9,982
And dont start with its a cs500 stock its still a sporter stock what ever way you look at it its still a sporter stock a difference it has made to the handling of this gun your own words atvbmac Its just not a sporter stock , its a custom made sporter stock and that's the difference . I have shot a few HW100s with a sporter stock ,but this one is different , may be a bit lighter 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Nice shooting VM What do you recon to the c500 With the rose wood , might get one for mine ! mark williams 7,568
Done with all the joking about , he like your self Mark are very lucky men as you both can shoot both cals i thought i could to but turns out i can not its 22 for me may be i need to go back to the start and sit at the range a few times and learn how to shoot 177 all over again but alas it may be the fact that you cant teach an old dog new tricks in my case atvbto the both of youmac  Personally Mac i would find it easier to shoot .177 before .22. All .22 lads/ gals need to know their mill dots like the back of their hands whereas .177 put the crosshairs on that quarry and squeeze off that trigger within reason that is. Saying that, breeze is more a worry than range in .177. Edited July 18, 2015 by mark williams Quote Link to post

Saying that, breeze is more a worry than range in .177. I've been thinking about this this morning. The general consensus is, 177's drift a bit more in the breeze/wind due to being lighter, 22's don't as much due to there extra weight. What about the thought that the larger 'surface area' of a 22... meaning IT is more suseptable to the breeze/wind and with 177 being of less surface area, they don't. I'm not saying your wrong mark, it's perhaps something that's come to mind. The bigger the surface area, the more prone to wind, irrelevant of weight. Quote Link to post

Aye up Rez , You did well to think about this thread this morning, - i posted it at 5-13 pm tonight . Anyways i agree, i too simply went with the general consensus but either, or, on windy or breezy days i usually take my 12 bore and German Short Hair gundog for a good long mooch about and give the air rifles a miss. villaman 9,982
I think you find a.177 takes less wind than .22 Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,568
take a look at this http://www.airgunforum.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/174275-Massive-177-JSB-Pellet-Velocity-Test-0-50-metres That is a cracking read and information VM - it really has got me thinking as to clean the HW 100 kt barrel and switch to AA express 7.88 grain - "now". Rifling twist written in stone and stability in greater mass was another. Thank you mate, "defiantly helpful" oops, definately helpful. I`m sure some of the other .177 lads will take note, maybe even some .22 lads Edited July 19, 2015 by mark williams Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Mark , i have tried AA Epress 7.9gr ,i can tell you these pellets are so good in the HW100k and my 97k , I will give these another go in the field again , but i just prefer JSB heavies 10.3gr for hunting !!
