My mrs asked the guy who gave it to us how much to put in her 5 litre sprayer and he said "about an eggcup." Yes socks, I DO know what an eggcup is. Is there a specific ratio of glyphosate to water generally? I know it has to be stronger when you use a watering can rather than a sprayer. Sensible suggestions welcomed. Needed it for a troublesome path outside the house. Unbeknown, the then GF, poured it all on neat. Killed the weeds anyway, and I never had to do it again........... I get mine of a Farmer where a mate at works wife, keeps her Horses at. A paintbrush and paint it on neat to cut stems for hardier weeds, and be careful of the pond. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

WILF 50,676 Posted May 23, 2015 Report Share Posted May 23, 2015 Well, based on my long weeks if study !!!......for the rush, top them then wait for the fresh re growth, bruise them then spray then......repeat again back end of the summer then plenty of lime to sort the PH of the soil. I have 3 ha of the b*****ds here to sort and I have declared war !! Lol......hopefully, this time next year will see it back to decent pasture. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Tiercel 6,986 Posted May 23, 2015 Report Share Posted May 23, 2015 A tip I was given for waxy plants like mares tail and rushes is to add some fairy liquid to the spray, apparently it breaks down the waxy covering of the plant and allows the glyphosate to permeate the plant.
