socks 32,253
Some of you may remember last December Tilly spiked her eye on a branch causing this ..... Well the eye never healed and was inflamed and constantly pussing ... Between myself and the vet we tried everything ... She has been to see an eye specialist and she couldn't find anything ... The bitch has soldiered on and kept working dispite the discomfort she must have been in ... but I had enough last night and spoke to the vet and we decided they were going to knock her out and have a good root around and if the eye got damaged then they would remove it ... Got her back an hour ago her eye is intact thankfully ... Look at the size of the piece of bark that they pulled out deep from inside her eye under the third eyelid ......

bobcullen79 1,495
Looks like a bit of blackthorn bark? That wont of helped. Bet it was like getting in after a night on the tiles and taking off the size 9 shoes, when you got size 11 feet for her... No damage to her eyesight at all?

Nope they are very confident that her eye is perfectly normal ... The third eyelid may not ever sit quite right but it won't effect anything .......

Fat-Ferret 857
Crazy that was in her eye all that time, she must have been seriously pissed off! Imagine how bad your eye feels when you get a bit of grit or sand in it, never mind enough wood to start a fire
Gaz_1989 9,539
Jesus Christ that's horrific. I had a tiny piece of rusty metal behind my eye a few months back. You could hardly see it with the human eye. Smaller than a grain of sand. It gave me some aggro. Blurred vision, sore, red eye, weeping all the time. Can't imagine having something that size in there. Bet she feels better now.
skycat 6,174
And I thought I'd got away with a few things over the years: that really takes the biscuit! having seen my vet extract a barbed grass seed from right behind the eye the other year, I managed to do the same with one of my terriers last year. All I could see was the tiniest speck of something that had been bothering her for a few days. Pulled very gently with tweezers and out came a huge grass seed ... but a piece of bark???????????
