David.evans 5,323
Thought I'd change my shooting times So I set the alarm for 2.30 , made the flask and of I went , I intended to shoot with the air wolf with the n870 until dawn and then change over to the hw100 for the rest of the morning The paddocks / orchards , normally have plenty of rabbits on them and bagging a few is not a problem. The grass was soaking wet after the rain last nite , after a walk round I only saw thro the ir monocular 3 rabbits and they legged it befor I could get to a acceptable range . Now normally my nite shooting would start at 9/10 pm , and by 2am I'd be my way home With a few in the bag but not this time May be the rabbits on this perm don't like getting there feet wet , Moral of the story , if it ant broke don't fix it I don't think I'll be setting the alarm again at that time So it's bacon and eggs and of to a car boot I'll sit back and wait for the slagging to come now lol Atb dave 1 Quote Link to post
random 659
Did the same on a golf course perm, used to go after ten and get good results and see a few about that were too far and difficult to stalk, then started going earlier and seeing less and getting much less then eventually saw practically nothing and bagged about the same,it never seemed to be quite the same after that, all our own doing I think, now my mate goes occasionally when he can and says its getting back to what is was,so I totally get how it feels... walshie 2,804
Have you had the same then walshie ? Never seems to be many bunnies round when the grass is wet. Hence I was tucked nicely under my duvet snoring at 2.30. Quote Link to post

walshie 2,804
Yove got to give it a go tho walshie , better to have tried and failed , that no at all I have tried in the past, or how would i know there's less rabbits about when it's wet? And now I know that fact, warm bed trumps wet field any time. Quote Link to post
