Isn't particularly early for them to be out and about depending on where in the country you are. We get a fair few Adders too...a mate lost a bitch... granddaughter to my old dog a few years back from an Adder bite to the face...but they seem to be more active late summer early autumn...this is the earliest i seen them about...cheers for replies lads 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

brookie 1,193 Posted April 6, 2015 Report Share Posted April 6, 2015 ive seen a few over the years but one that stands out was in an old kitchen garden years ago ,and it had an ornamental pond in center only a small one ,with small box privets bordering the veg plots, and suddenly there was squealing just like a young rabbit ,it was a large grass snake had ambushed a frog and the frog was actually squealing in the grass snakes mouth .ive never seen the likes before nor since . 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Yokel Remember taking my kids to the Saxon village at west stow over 20yr back....thats some serious Adder country round there and Thetford forest way...worked at Thetford years back would see massive red deer stags early morning wading through the barley on that wedge of land between the A11-A134 near the thetford roundabout...seen grasssnake swimming across the river Yare before at dusk ...many years back now. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
