Above everything else...what needs to be remembered, is that it is not the camera that takes the photo, but the man behind it. A good photographer will take good shots with crap gear. It makes me laug

Tell you what Bill,I can recall a year or two back when you had the Osprey pics on here and the Cuckoo's & Kingfisher's, they were something else..not sure if they were took with the gear you have

Good images matie, obviously you have the gear

I certainly ain't Bill haha,I think Paul does though? I've only got a Canon 650d and shite lenses but being honest I'd not justify one like some of the ones you guys have,I like pottering about with the dogs on fells,in forests etc,I've already knackered one camera through getting it soaked and have fell and broke three lenses haha..NUMB springs to mind here I think..not safe out let alone with thousands of pounds of hi-tech gear hanging around my neck ?

It makes me laugh when some people think that all you need to get a good photo is a good camera....well, to consistantly get good shots you've got to be good and you've got to try, try and try again, because only effort is going to get you good photos. There are no short cuts.

The hire includes the lens being fully insured, theres an excess of £200, the hire also include delivery and picking up at your house..Im hiring a 500mm f4 this year, as unlike JD I cant afford £7000 + HA HA HA

You ain't getting enough books wrote then haha, hopefully get to see one or two of your pics as and when? Let's hope the Osprey's play ball,I'm not even sure if they still return here each year on Bassenthwaite? I guess they still do as there's always people out with fancy cameras and all matter of bino's,telescopes the lot..I had the dogs out one day and walked right to the tree of the nest,I wasn't aware it was there, there was hundreds of cables running into a hut nearby, satellite dishes attached to rocks and cameras everywhere..I bet they thought "who's this clown, bold as brass walking to the nesting site" two lurchers and a Pomeranian at heel lol..now I know its there I avoid it,I've never actually seen the birds although to be fair I don't sit in wait haha
