RemyBolt 420
Finally!!! Persistence has paid off. The permission I've been working on has come to fruition! It's literally a stone's throw from my front door (okay, more like 2-3 minute walk). Permission papers signed, a copy for me and a copy for the farmer. Very excited as the land has apparently been unworked for a while and needs sorting out. So I decided to celebrate by buying a new Jack Pyke jacket. Just thought I'd drop a note to everyone looking for either their first permission, or a specific permission that they've been working for a while…keep at it. This permission was 2 years in the making. Door knocking, leafletting, and getting references. Managed to get a meeting. When I turned up today, as scheduled, with my paperwork in hand, typed up and ready to be signed, one copy for me and another for him, he was most impressed. Picking up a map of the land on Friday, then out to shoot on Saturday morning. Rabbit rich, apparently. Which is perfect, as my other permissions are nearly all rats or pigeon. Nearly nothing on the rabbit front on them. Keep at it, keep up the work, and maintain a presence. Get the permission forms printed out and get out there knocking doors. In one day, if you've not been rejected by 20 people, then you've not knocked enough doors or called enough places. Keep at it. That golden site you want will happen. Don't be disheartened. The hardest part of hunting is hunting the land to shoot on. The quarry is the easy part. Quote Link to post

walshie 2,804
How do you word your permission rights mate simple or a big essay type? I'd guess 4 pages of double sided A4 in really small print. Quote Link to post
RemyBolt 420
How do you word your permission rights mate simple or a big essay type? I'd guess 4 pages of double sided A4 in really small print. How dare you! It's only 3 pages of double sided print, because the print is that small! haha If it's the actual waiver of liability, I used to have long drawn out crap my cousin wrote up for me. Working in the legal field, he was my first port of call. But not much fun going through it all. So when I came on here, I changed the wording a lot. Now they look like: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/234652-permission-papers-waver-of-liability/ Like that, but without the cover letter. The simpler the better. No farmer wants to spend time reading my dribble. Also, computer printed, because If I take a pen to paper, nobody can read what I'm writing! Not even me. So I just personalise a copy of the above permission papers. When leafletting or dropping off letters with a 'business/hobby' card, I make it short and sweet too, because 95% of leaflets are put into the fire, 4% are probably used as toilet paper, and with the 1% that get read, you have about 6 seconds to get the reader's attention. Try doing that with a fountain of small print. Short and sweet. Quote Link to post
