Canada Geese

Bit of a tangent, but has anyone ever eaten a Canada ? If so, are they any good ?

 

I have had good and bad historically, but always levels of good these days, because I select the best, from the best grazing/feeding areas if I'm after one for the table.

 

Also attempt to check age and sex when after food for the table. As with many animals, a young female that has had a good diet will almost always be sweet, tender and tasty.

 

...and I don't remember the last time I plucked and cooked a whole one, simply open the chest and remove that breast meat.

lead shot regs doesnt cover air guns

I was unaware this to be the legal stance .. l will admit, being a shotgun shooter in the main l automatically, "wrongly it would appear" to have assumed shooting fowl with lead was illegal .. so l retract my post with my tail between.my legs ... l.personally only would consider taking geese with a shotgun, but each to their own .. atb

no worries mate, Id feel happier shooting them with something bigger or fac air tbh but legally that's the script as far as I can see
