I once thought off using fishing weights..

 

Just enough to flop top of the net over a bar, yet not to heavy preventing it pursing ..

 

Your idea looks good mate..

I do the same runs an gates all the time..the runs through sheep wire iv bits copper cooker wire to hold fox net up an s hooks perminatly fixed to sheep wire. for ends of the draw cords iv no pegs on the nets anything hits the net it going nowhere Edited by Hareydave

I just knitted a big purse net , it wasnt till later i had to knit gate nets when the farmer changed to bigger 18 foot gates , it was handy for slipping into a back pocket when you where out a walk with the mutts and saw something in a field

a few cable ties onto the gate good enough to hold a sheet net, it not long flicking of them if something hits the net

There are no new threads.

 my nets are retired and all though I kept them I doubt they will ever get out I  to the dark nights again..

Unfortunately terryd it looks like it's all on you to keep this section going lol..
