Well, Villaman convinced me. It took about six months mind, lots of chin scratching and lusting for another bolt action.

Now I love my S410, my Ultra is a dream, my Gaystate is a prima donna. Rim and centre becoming a rich mans past time.

So, enter my first German. Just picked it up and salivating on the walnut ( I just love a new toy )

First impressions? Very well made, excellent finish and very pleasing on the eye. I love the flush fitting parts, everything about it shouts quality.

Nice folk at the Airgun Centre, first time I have dealt with them. Enclosed test certificate showing 785fps and around 11.5 lbs. And boy is it quiet.

Moral of this story I think. Never rush into things, read, read, and talk to folk who have one. Then put aside your prejudice towards certain things like lever actions.

Now to scope up and zero, then decide what to use it on, and where to use it. As its a sporter stock ( didn't like the thumbhole jobby ) it may become a pigeon piece for hide work and a walk in the woods.

Hell, I just want to shoot with it so anything bar water buffalo look out! :diablo:

Thank you gentlemen. Slotted a BSA Basics on top, actually a nice simple scope, hole on hole out to thirty yards. One inch groups at fifty five and my breakfast egg off the post top at sixty five. Shot it again today and even better results, barrel must be leaded up.

It shoots more accurately than the Regal at the same distances, on a par with the Ultra ( both in .177 as well )

Very, very pleased am I.

Well let's just say I may be putting 30 squid away each month and I may be looking at getting one! I don't know if it's problems with my s200 and it's got me down but I really did love the HW. I'd be going for the is too if I did as im quite a small bloke.

Its stock is drinking oil.........lots

Which oil do you recommend John ?

atb

Just boiled linseed Mark, I use it for all stocks. Wait until its not soaking in any more and then I seal it with a clear beeswax. Worked for me for years, after a year or two repeat it. I brought a lovely old Mauser stock back to life this way a year or two back and its still fresh as a daisy.
