zandy01 3,576
All good experience for the young pups mate and at that age and as you know you've got years ahead of you to look forward to them learning their job and filling the game bag for you, I'm sure you'll have some cracking nights with them 2, they look the business fella Quote Link to post

squab 2,875
No easy task bringing two pups on I done it once never again sounds to me like you was setting yourself and the dogs up to fail from the start. not having a go just my opinion but not the way I'd go about it myself.either way good luck with them atb 2 Quote Link to post

Yes, I agree it would've been ideal for both dogs to have caught a squatter or nice easy myxie rabbit each but it's 1st night, hardly going to shatter confidence and shame it didn't end on a high but as Gafer admits himself he was too kean and eager to slip the pup, lesson learned for next time, although I'm sure he has plenty experience and will bring them pups on just fine.. Just my opinion mate. Quote Link to post
the big chief 3,099
I have brung two on before if you trat them the same its fine some can do it others can't I can it just takes more time and I agree a quick catch and home but as the rabbits got up and ran each time I wasn't about to turn off the lamp wilst the dogs was bending and striking that would be no good at all I have been at it 10 years my dad 20+ I think we have an inkling between us both the pups are keen as hell if people don't agree with how I do things then that's your problem its never failed any of my others Quote Link to post
weasle 1,119
Had 2 pups on my self,I liked it something i would do again, they loved one another but still loved me more, without being too needy. 1 Quote Link to post
