Old clothes make the best bedding imo.

It's old clothes in one box and shredded office paper in the other, the five ferrets seem to prefer making a nest in the big ball of paper, all curled up together at night. During the day they split up and use the old clothes box as well. I have four young sons so the wife puts all the boys old, worn out clothes in s bag and I fill up the ferret box as needed. I don't know what I'm going to do when they all leave home as I never throw any of my old clothes out.

I used to use old t-shirts etc found that the nest box got damp.saw dust and plenty hay during the winter.

I use dust extracted wood shavings and straw but after reading a few of the posts i think im going to use hay now

I either use hay, shredded office paper, shavings or an old bit of clothing if I have something. They tend to make a hollow on top of whatever bedding i use rather than burrow into it. All summer and during the winter when the sun hits the court they always use the hammock.

Ferrets will burrow in to straw,,,but I've always found they do this when there's only a couple of ferrets living together,,or when it's very cold,,,but the straw does need to be piled up

Straw is great, hay not good IMO. Shredded paper is good and insulating also.

Shavings and shredded paper for me. Always got told not to use hay or straw.

Hay for bedding, wood shavings else where.

 

Once used straw never again the hob ferret got a 2" length down his japs eye lol.

 

Hay is soft and warm.
