I wouldn't like to see the backbone on my pup at that age ......... Yeah socks I agree, but on 2nd vid I put up he had puked up 3 times in 24 hours, but eating properly again. He gets chicken/beef,turky mince in the morning, full chicken carcass with neck and some meat still on it pm, then some rice with drippin, veg and lean meat an bit of liver or kidney. Also eats chicken wings, legs, rabbit guina fowl. I did ask the vet today if he was under weight to be honest, she said no. Got any advice how to fatten him up socks. Been wormed with drontal plus, flead with frontline. Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
f***ing vets haven't got a clue .... Fatty lamb and beef is the best for putting weight on busy puppies as they get their energy from the fat then all the protein from the meat can go to building the pup .... But sounds like he is getting a good varied diet anyway ........ Quote Link to post

Fatty lamb and beef is the one am struggling with mate. He gets the odd oxtail. I get quite a lot tof his meats from sainsburys @ a 1/4 of the price when they reduce it to late on , but its hit and miss (and a pain in the arse) but on the plus side I have a freezer just for him. So if anyone reads this and knows any good suppliers near Liverpool for raw meats can you let me know plz. Edited November 18, 2014 by flipbull Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
Just had his 2nd set of jabs. Vet asked me do I wanna 3rd one just to make sure, has anyone else had this done? I told her no. Was talking about still carrying the dams anti-bodies etc. So I let her know hen didn't get his 1st till 9 weeks 2 days old. Money grabbing f***ers. The third set of jabs are free at my vets and are an extra for leptospirosis, they are needed due to the way its carried in the new type vaccine, I was told the drug companies are standing the bill, atb with your pup, WM Quote Link to post

I have never heard of having a 3rd jab. Quote Link to post

flipbull 1,139
Phone up a few different vets and find out what they say then phone herc Will do mate. Would like to know how many other THL members have had the 3rd jab for their dogs? If the government is footing the bill as mentioned by wirral countryman, then why want another £15. Am not a tight arse when it comes to my dog, but why dont they inform us before hand? Scare tactics spring to mind. Quote Link to post

nothernlite 18,268
Who's knows that's one vets saying maybe another will be different pups have been jagged at 10 weeks then 12 weeks or 8 weeks and 10 weeks nothing happened to then all a lot of piss dogs with no jags wtf Edited November 19, 2014 by nothernlite Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
My vet had done a study on it for a paper he was writing and spoke to the main manufacturers from nine different countries and the conclusion was that if the bitch is inoculated then the pups don't need need to be jabbed until at least ten weeks of age but to make sure the pup has enough anti bodies to take on the lepto virus its better to wait until the pup is 13 weeks for its first jab ... That's what I am doing with my pup this time ....... Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,268
It makes you wonder why all these years the vets have been doing it before 13 weeks so all the dogs over the years the jags have been no use makes you wonder Quote Link to post
