oakey 57
A few years back i had a few quid spare and i treated myself to a brand new ultra .22 multi and sold my old Bowkitt tuned airsporter S which was fac . Now i have a bit more time on my hands i am thinking of using the ultra for a bit of bunny bashing but my mate has put doubt in my mind over using a 12ftlbs gun ? Rather than just hitting a rabbit anywhere in the front end ie heart or head i will now have to head shoot them or not ? Quote Link to post
toby63 1,236
an ultra is very handy for the rabbits i only go for head shots Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Head shots are quite easy with a good pcp and an Ultra is certainly in that category. Shooting rabbits would require the .177 calibre at night as judging ranges is far easier with a flat trajectory. in my humble opinion Oakey Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
If you get the ultra turnd up to fac you probably wont get many shots LOL Quote Link to post

Deker 3,491
Lets not start the .22/.177 debate again. There is nothing wrong with a 12ft lb .22 for the bunnies, they are very popular/capable. As for shot placement, much will depend on ammo type/distance/quality of gun/quality of shooter/etc. Frankly, with an Ultra I would never consider getting it FAC, mine was pants in 12 ft lb, went back twice for seals and I still think the loading/cocking system is daft...but it is near the bottom price end of PCPs, and mine did work ok in the end, but I'd had enough by then and it went. tomburras 2,730
If you want to get it put on FAC I would sell it and buy something with a bigger air capacity. Or use it as it is and enjoy it - sub 12 is great for hunting, just practice with it and take headshots only. They are nice guns are ultras atb tom. Quote Link to post
