Why do you think there is no other life ... Its a very arrogant and closed view to think we are the only life form in existence and that the earth is the only inhabited planet ..........

Perspective...   http://www.ba-bamail.com//view.aspx?emailid=12288&MemberId=0&

Lol, no billions have been invested in the current mission of voyager.

I think you said something like " best we can hope for is a con/ukip alliance" in another thread the other day? Bit of a contradiction in terms if you don't support evil empire building i would say BH lol. There's much better ways to sort it all out without spilling any blood, but were to f****d in the head as a species to do the right thing, the majority of us anyway.

You might say that, I wouldn't. Like I said, realist.

Tufty, how the f**k will 'finding a hobby' help with your education on space exploration?

My explanation to space =theres fcuk all there but space.

No fcuking education there.

Finding another hobby for all you space monkees.

Instead of looking for ET and fecking Predator.

Well you got a right to your opinion mate, but i don't have faith in this system of greed, its not worked out for 99% of the worlds population so far, we wont learn until its to late.

Did them no harm? They got shafted my natural disaster or by technologically advanced competitors. Plenty completely wiped out. If you're happy to be like that then fine, I'm not.

Did you not read the article........or maybe you know whats best for people ;)

Part of NASA research is investigating the potential for alien life, PART OF IT.

The Voyager missions are not a part of that, certainly not a significant financial part anyway. There mission is to study the solar system and now beyond it.

They're not looking for life. The research is as beneficial to us as any purist research. Which in turn is necessary for applied research.

Excuse my 9 year old childlike immagination......but do you not think there should come a time when human beings need to just sit happy with our lot and stop looking for trouble.......what IF we woke up some mad deranged sharp headed evil little creatures who then decided to wipe us out or brought back some killer virus we never knew existed...... its ok saying discovering new things is good for the human race....but what if something was discovered that was not good for the human race.....just shrug our shoulders and say oh well we bit off more than we could chew that time.....i mean the unknown is the unknown right ?

something was discovered that was no good for the human race gnasher……..its called religion………killed more people than any virus i can think of

I read it briefly. One example of a primitive people that are allegedly doing alright... would you like me to give you 10 examples of people's that were either wiped out by a technologically advanced competitor or natural disaster they couldn't deal with? It's happened again ando again through history.

It's ironic really, we wouldn't even be having this conversation if our ancestors had been 'happy with their lot'. Chances are we'd have been the unfortunate recipients of genocide or a pandemic.

I dont have a problem with discoveries in my own garden i just think jumping into my neighbors garden to make discoveries is taking the piss and unnecessary if he wants me to know he,ll tell me if theres nothing to know i havent missed anything.

"Maybe I know what's best for people"... you make me sound arrogant gnash. Don't be so subtle with your insults/opinions of me, just come out and say it. It's my opinion on what's best for us, that's all. As you have your own...

oh for gawd sake dont get all victimised mate i mean you as in " science/astronomers/futuristic we know best " types......not you Bornhunter off a hunting forum !.................Look,far as im concerned do all the searching around yous like....but if you bring it on top for all of us i didnt vote for it but im stuck with the backdrop...thats all im saying......as have the tribes in that article when they was happy doing what they was doing and effecting no one.....someone came along who knew best and they paid the price for it.
