I love Boardwalk Empire but the ad breaks do my nut in!

mattyg 1,862
They are meant to be brummy accents not Black Country, their pub the Garrison Tavern is still there in small Heath (although closed). The accents are a bit off but a top class bit of telly in amongst all the talent shows and other guff. Matt
Flacko 1,732
Yea mate not Black Country men but think they exaggerate the brummy accent good crack tho

TOMO 24,993
Yeh I've watched some of the first series ,,,liked it,,,regarding the accents ,,,,thought they sounded brum to me,,,but then I'm not from there,,,so might not get the little differences a local might get.... I wonder though ,,if brumys today ,,sound the same as they did 100 year back? And here's a question,,,do you think they really had razors in the peak caps,,,,I can't say as I'm convinced,,for one thing how was that a weapon?
tsteve9999 456
From what I've read they did use the razor blades. And though I'm sure there is a lot of artistic licence the first series was based on fact, they stole what they thought were motor bikes that turned out to be machine guns
mattyg 1,862
Well they are from small Heath after all.... Thick bluenoses! Hahaha
Bosun11 537
Some of the accents are terrible, if you look at most of the outside scenes it is the same backdrop from different angles, the Stanley Dock Tobacco Warehouse, Liverpool. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Dock_Tobacco_Warehouse BUT it does make great viewing...
