You talk some nonsence sometimes , how long have you been around strongs dogs and apbts ? How much first hand experience do you have?

I think the merle in apbt comes from cataloulas or the American bulldogs that have been crossed with cataloulas,

it's a relatively recent thing along with chocolate and tan bulldogs and American bullies

Whether you'd call them pitbills or not is another matter

if it does the job maybe,if it was added just for aesthetics then no.
