MickyB 327
How does the moon affect our quarries habits (rabbits mainly) I don't seem to see much if anything what's your experiences with this part of the month? Quote Link to post
morton 5,367
24 hrs a day,7 days a week,52 weeks a year bunnys need to feed, daytime, sunshine, wintertime and moonshine, thus in every minute of every one of these days there will be reward for the hunter,if the hunter has the nous to understand his quarry and its habits. 3 Quote Link to post
blackmaggie 3,375
like morton says quietly mooching about at night under a cheese can and does bring rewards one way or another its surprising what the dogs bump in to or run this way 2 Quote Link to post
stabba 10,745
The moon can be a terrible hinderance at times...But can also be a big asset other times. 2 Quote Link to post
coneykenny 98
Full moon doesn't help me much lads. Dark and windy. Rabbits I find tend to be less unaware of the dangers on a windy nite and venture further out Quote Link to post

morton 5,367
Some of my most rewarding nights on bunny,s have been influenced by a full moon, ferreting on the Bolton Abbey car park ,winter night, frosty and a full moon to illuminate the ground and webs, only chance we had to work that location,it was that hot the ice should have melted, until we worked it to our reward.30 and 40 rabbits were the norm on these occasions.Don,t do it any more, best left to others perhaps?. 3 Quote Link to post

squab 2,875
had some good nights out with a full moon in the past, every turn of a hedgerow or fence line as well as walking around small wooded areas dell holes etc can all offer good ambush points to pick a few bits up Quote Link to post
