good climbing-in under the sun from woodhead, never been up Holmes from that direction, think i'll pencil it in.

Great atmosphere, anyone see the young kids boat when struggling on his approach to the mast, with the crowd getting on board and clapping him-in (half 1-ish)

Some beautiful period steel amongst the crowd, seen a few cracked carbon jobee's, i thought it would be impolite to ask the rider if it was still ten times stronger than steel, long way out to be invalidating a warranty.

The pro's went up holme's like they were riding the velodrome, without checking they 'd approx 120miles on the clock before seeing it, up and over and a straight shoot-out to sheffield (big boys game).

The release down woodhead at the end was good, thousands of riders in the late afternoon sun, road to themselves, open age, no accidents, everyone just ad libbin, had a loon in a pair of sandy coloured shorts on me case, he could do a bit...smiling at me for 12mile he was, his head fell off 3/4's up mottram cutting, i whistled him from the lights and give a wave, i don't think he was happy (but strong he was).

Great day. I was at the bottom of Holme Moss, just over the reservoir. Nice to see all the nippers riding out to see the race. I got there via my mt bike. Mottram Hill? Pissed it and got back to watch the last 6k!

Red, I rode along Woodhead from home, Motteam area, and passed the turning for Holme Moss, staying on Woodhead. I crossed nine holes bridge and watched from there.

i see....thought you might have run down to mossley and bolted thru greenfield taking the moor (thought you said you were an hyde fella), i fancied a do over it to see what it felt like to ride without worrying about traffic but me oppo was bleating and the ride back down woodhead was pleasant. Chatting with olde boy thru Ashton...he was heading back to Stoke.

I stood and watched them come up jenkin road. After 120 mile the leaders went through the "s" bend, at 1 in 3, like they had just set off. Very impressive. Some of the tail enders were blowing though.

they must have there brothers down by me then, since it started I see feckin loads of them now pass my house with yellow tee-shirts , and there sisters on hosses  no room for cars now
