This morning are radar picked up two. Jets flying towards uk airspace. RUSSIAN Now either. The tomtom was broke or mr putin was seeing if we were asleep on are jets taking to the air the ruskies turned round. Funny how this has made the news as it used to be a regular occurrence back in the cold war era , Maybe he wanted to see the typhoon Responce !!!!!!! Long way to come right down over the top for a jolly.

Putin sees how soft the west has become, especially with gb having antis running parliament, soft as butter but for the working class man. I'd hate to see how gb would cope with a wartime invasion never mind the peacetime foreign one happening at the miniute

Also HMS Dragon is currently shadowing a Russian destroyer off the UK coast.

Big G, this is nothing new, the Russians have been doing exactly this for decades. We're doing the same with 4 Typhoons being sent out to give air superiority on the Russian/NATO border.

Russian bears always wondered close to our airspace in the days of the cold war, testing reaction times and looking for weaknesses to exploit someone has just turned the clock back 30 or 40 years, every year there was an exercise in Germany where all of NATO gathered and flew jets along the iron curtain it was called bold gauntlet

Been in Norway 4 times doing arctic training in the forces.

Still do it incase the Russians attack on the northern flank.

As there only few hundred do arctic training in the forces now.

I thought the entire Marine corps did it? Or at least 3Cdo... Being the speacialty of the Artic Warfare Cadre. Surely that's 8k men?

 

For that matter I know for a fact my mate in the RAF Regt has done it.
