TOMO 28,333
Feck me wish I was eating that much, only 2200 a day trying to cut right down lol! Few questions for ya 1. What training are you doing ? 2. How many kcals CONSISTENTLY ? If you need 4k and your only hitting that 2-3 days a week and getting 3k the others it will hold you back 3. whats your height / build like ? some people have smaller frames etc and just cant pack on as much mass as others Small frame, 5'8" sharp, lean and rapid, I eat the same amount everyday or more, very fast metabolism and lot of stress in the job so on top note for most of the day. I train very hard for one hour everyday (after a warm up) using the same techniques the Thai boxers use in Thailand I would ask at your gym, for the latest info,,,or listen to gnash when he finds this ,,,,,but it sound to me like you need to concentrate on some proper lifting,,,and eat more,,,, reading what you say ,,,sounds like a lot of cardio type work,,, But you know mate if you look good I wouldn't worry to much,,,I admit I'm lazy now,,, but I loved all the heavy training and trying to get bigger ,,,I know wished I had stayed leaner,,, Even now,, I haven't altered how I train,,,and I should really,,I don't train as heavy as I did,,,cos I'm not that strong anymore,,but I'm still reasonably strong,,,but I don't have the shape I did,,, I'm just a strong fat bloke now,,,,doh

End of the day you may just have to eat more , its tough when its extreme, personally I'd love to be able to eat that much hah! One good way is to make shakes, there a quick n easy way to get in loads of Kcals without having to cook a big meal for ages. 2-3 scoops protein powder, few bananas, oats, milk , blender, down the hatch 1-3x a day AS WELL as everything you eat normally The shakes thing I'm dubiant about but I've been looking into it the training sesh is as follows; 10 steps onto a chair (no jumping, using calfs to lift, alternating legs through sets) 10 sit ups (flat legs no foot hold), 10 squat thrusts,10 half burpees, 10 full burpees, 10 wide arm rapid press ups.... this is one round x3 is a set I have hit 5 sets (basically a f****n athlete level) plus free weights for upper body and coal weights for calf raises Edited to add plus bag work Edited March 30, 2014 by mushroom
Lloyd90 509
If you want to pack on some solid mass I'd recommened getting under a bar bell. Squats Deadlifts Bench Press Over head press / push press Bent over rows power cleans Find a good programme and go from there. Why are you dubiant (Dubious?) about shakes ? End of the day there just a quick way to get alot of kcals down your neck in a short space of time. My pal works on site and is always on the go, says he dont have time to sit down 3-4 times a day and eat a huge meal, so he will eat at lunch throughout the day hes got a huge bottle of blended tuna and rice thats hes constantly swigging from. works for him... I prefer the protein powder , bananas , peanut butter and milk shakes tho

How many times a day???? How ever many times you need to get the calorie goal your aiming for. Depending on the quantity of ingrediants the calories per shake will change, My own personal recipe 300ml semi skim milk - 150cals, 10.8g protein, 14.4g carbs, 5.4g fat 100g banana (peeled) 100cals, 1gP, 24gC, 0gF 10g peanut butter - 60cals, 3gP, 1.2gC, 4.6gF 2 scoops (50g) choc whey protein - 195cals, 36.8gP, 3gC, 3.4gF total - 505cals, 51.6g protein, 42.6g carbs, 13.4g fat. So if you want to add an extra 1000kcals then have 2 a day ? Also how much protein are you getting a day ?

socks 32,253
Your training regime is far to cardio orientated and although will give you a fit ripped appearance it isn't going to bulk you up ... If you want to pack muscle on then you have to work the muscle and lifting heavy weights is the best way to do that ... You need to be lifting free weights to reach your goal ... As TOMO said gnash is your man for advice .........

I want to increase by 5-10kg's over the next 2-3months but remain able to fight for the duration
