"The Cold War is over" my arse! He's at it mate.. This won't be the end of it, he's appealing to the nationalist in every Russian with the hunting photos and going into places to protect the interests of their ethnic people abroad. I know we'd do the same for the Falklands and Gibraltar but invading a sovereign country to do so is like us landing Marines on the costa del sol to protect the interests of the British ex pats there.. I know we'd do the same for the Falklands and Gibraltar but invading a sovereign country to do so is like us landing Marines on the costa del sol to protect the interests of the British ex pats there.. The Falklands and Gibraltar are completely different to what's going on here. He's walking a very fine line. I'm sure he'd love nothing more than to march right into Kiev and carry out a few executions. To completely invade Ukraine or to hit resistance in the Crimea with heavy casualties would not be acceptable and he knows that, he's testing the water and at the same time securing strategically important military assets. Taking advantage of a time when the core of NATO has f**k all fight in it and being clever with his moves to not initiate actual conflict or full invasion. Now ICBMs. Is it a bad time to mention that another Type-45 has got propulsion issues? LOL. I bet Faslane in buzzing!
scothunter 12,609
during the cuba crisis, the usa test fired a nuke. now that was dodgy lol
Malt 379
Think the old missile test at a time of tension thing is a bit old hat now.. Yeah, we all know they have ICBMs, nothing new there Mr Putin. They ain't going to really use them, they know that, the rest of the world know it and all..

The Cuba crisis, the Korean War, the Vietnam war, the Cold War, the Falklands war, the two Gulf wars, the Afgan war have all been in my lifetime, as well as the break up of the Warsaw Pact, the disintergration of the Balkans, the Chinese anexation of Tibet and countless other atrocities such as Ruwanda and going back a bit ,the Belgians in the. Congo. Nothing will change; this is just another move in "The Great. Game"

RubyTex 1,957
ICBMs? Type 45s?? In terms for us simpletons, does that mean Putin has test fired a rocket that could potentially carry a nuclear warhead? Either way, he wants to pack it in!

Can usually carry multiple nuclear warheads or MIRVs. Type 45 = state of the art Royal Navy ship with the ability to shoot down ICBM's..
