Got mine a week ago, Al'. Same thing, mate; Hadn't seen a one since god knows. Then, Bang! Half a dozen of the f**kers out there. Siskins returned about the same time too.

I only offer peanuts, by the way. Mixed seen in the traps. F**k that nigger for a game of Let's Go Bankrupt! :icon_eek:

The perfect word is "Charm" for sure  ,although i keep goldies myself and having birds does pull other birds in i don't get many wild goldies around my garden, the odd ones do come down and even land on my aviary wire sometimes there not regular visitors to my feeders. :cray:

Well done though Stan and i still smile about a siskin cock i saw in my garden a year or more ago

anybody offer a reason up as to why they havent been about? 3 years ago i had them feeding at my mums everyday, just moved back here end of november and only seen two, one of them yesterday! however there has been a couple of siskens/greenfinches on the nyger every day, embarrassingly i cant figure out how to tell the difference regardless of the internet and the 'bird i.d' books i own :icon_redface:

A greenfinch is a much bigger heavier bird than the siskin and the goldfinch and they are a more even colour all over where as the siskin has the patches of light and dark on it and cock siskin's have the black cap on their heads, they do both however have the yellow flashes of the yellow wing feathers when they fly.

In the pic the size difference in the goldie so the siskin is about the same again upwards to the greenfinch, the greenfinch being the bigger bird, hope that makes sence? :icon_redface: .

Siskin's about the size of a tit. Greenfinch is about the size of a good sparrow. Compare what ye seeing to any other bird ye familiar with. That'd be as good as any a starting point.
