hi all i got my self a new filter yesterday i normaly use red but gave the amber one a try and it seems pretty good the rabbits just didn't run till my dog was nearly on top of it and there is no need to take the filter off when ya dog is running eather i am going to give the blue one a try too to see what thats like

I use a amber one when i take the gun and dog out rabbits sit tight and the dog runs fine with the filter . Ya get abit further beam than a red filter and amber is good for fog

I noticed the beam was longer with the amber its blowing a gale hear so I will be out again tonight

the blue one is ideal for the fog or mists as it cuts through it and iv used the amber on a strikeforce lance and liked it but didnt like it on the blitz

Our old man use to use blue years back and said it was good but the amber I like even the ginger's last didn't get spooked by it

I got a green one for my Cluelite several years ago, didn't like it.
Couldn't see much, especially with my eyes

I've got a red filter for my lamp but it cuts the beam down that much that i find it difficult to lamp with it.

 

Is there any merit to drilling a small hole in the center of it to allow a bit more light through to increase the length of the beam??

 

Rabbits round me are so switched on to the lamp now, the filter is essential!

Just buy a new one i rate the amber one its pretty good

i will be getting an amber one now but not sure if i am gonna finish for this season as all the fields are piss wet through and its only getting worse

Its pretty wet hear the fields are just sludge no good for the dogs as they was sliding when the rabbit turned and it was hard going on me too

Av tryed them all over the years amber as to be the best ideal for pups but I like not haveing a filter tbh poping it on and off all time make a right raket

the clulite ones have a hole cut in the centre,dont blame me if you f**k it up though

i used to use the red all the time pre-ban just to get them in then flip it off for the run,dont bother now days they get used to them all in the end,reckon if you use the lamp wisely and watch the dog closely you can get away without it cheers
