hi all i got my self a new filter yesterday i normaly use red but gave the amber one a try and it seems pretty good the rabbits just didn't run till my dog was nearly on top of it and there is no need to take the filter off when ya dog is running eather i am going to give the blue one a try too to see what thats like

I've got a red filter for my lamp but it cuts the beam down that much that i find it difficult to lamp with it.

Is there any merit to drilling a small hole in the center of it to allow a bit more light through to increase the length of the beam??

Rabbits round me are so switched on to the lamp now, the filter is essential!

i used to use the red all the time pre-ban just to get them in then flip it off for the run, dont bother now days they get used to them all in the end, reckon if you use the lamp wisely and watch the dog closely you can get away without it cheers
