Since its the season of goodwill, it's a good time to pay our respects to fellow THL members who have helped us in one way or another or you might just like what they write.

 

J Darcy no it's not a wind up The first year or two I was on here I was getting banned left right and centre, some of it even justified then all of a sudden it all stopped..... I was left alone. A mod pm'd me, can't mind who saying that Darcy had told them to leave me alone, he was taking me under his wing. I dunno why the change, he might have seen my posts for what they were, gentle ribbings, he even posted on the lurcher forum that banter was being encouraged, a massive shift from the old days. Now I know I give Darcy dogs abuse and I know he knows its only banter so it's time for me to say, thanks Darcy for all you've done for me.

 

Stan. Throughout all those times I was getting it from all angles one man gave me support. Many a time I was about to throw in the towel, thinking, f**k this Baw, do you need this agro...... A pm from Stan would appear, chin up lad. That would be like spinach to Popeye. Stan is so genuine it's untrue, one of the funniest guys I know bar none. So a big thanks Stan ya f***ing ride yea

 

Mark Brick. Whether you like it or not the guy is a THL Legend. He got stick from the saluki boys, accepted their challenge to run his bag chaser on the fens and won. I speak up for Mark every opportunity I get cos the guys a hero in my eyes. He's caused me untold bans but that don't matter, you got to speak your own mind no matter the punishment in life or else what's the point in having one? Fair play to you mark, massive kudos my friend

 

Bendrover. He doesn't post half as much as I would like, some of you might not even know him but the guy eats, sleeps lurchers and has forgotten more than most know. Like a lot of guys on here I'm friends with, he started out wanting to kick 10 colours of shite out of me...but through time we've created a bond so strong, even the dogmen in Glasgow think he's me and give him stress for it he's pm'd me folks usernames for me to pm to say I'm not him now he just f***ing admits it big thumbs up pal, I've always got your back

 

Wullie Broon. Anyone who is anyone in the dog world in Scotland knows wullie, he's Jock Tamsons bairn if he landed in the Clyde, he'd get dragged to the shore with his arms round a stag and a salmon in both pockets. There can't be much in the hunting scene he hasn't seen or done. Massive respect for wullie

 

Tomo, Brookie, Socks, Wilf and KC I've lumped these 5 together cos my relationship is pretty similar. Tomo was usually my Saturday morning wind up he used to bite like a starved mackerel most times. I used to watch him refusing to bite but even though he knew what was coming WHAM the reel would scream no one can deny he puts a shift in socks again was easily wound up at the mere mention of the Brick he's mellowed too, I still throw the odd scrap at him like recently the photo of his dog I said had flat feet. But he just shrugged it off where in days gone by that would have been a 10 pager brookie too wanted to strangle me, the tide turned when he was telling me how he was going to smash me up good. I retorted I'll hit you that hard you'll think your surrounded. It must have hit a note cos he pm'd me saying how him and his son were buckled with laughter. From that moment on we became friends to the extent the guy offered me a pup when my luck was down wilfs just a fanny I added cos I felt sorry for him wilf and KC are I'd say the only 2 you just can't rattle. They know what they are and don't give a f**k what you think, kudos for that

 

Gnasher. I don't think their is a single post from him I haven't read in full. When he speaks I listen. I don't always agree with it but I always love reading what he has to say. The boxing threads for example. You read 2 pages of what guys think then up steps gnash with an in depth analysis that could contradict everyone but you think to yourself, the c**ts right. I've no close relationship with him but like some, I enjoy a good debate with the guy

 

Arcticgun. Another one of the boards wealth of experience lurcher men and a great guy to go with it. I've shared many a pm with him, he's tried his best to convert me into the world of salukis by inviting me to competitions to offering me pups. I even read while I was banned under Suzy Ross him offering me a pup and if I liked it, pay him what I thought. The guys a true gentleman but you can shove your plodder where the sun don't shine

 

Lab. One of my oldest companions on here and up there with Stan as one of the funniest on here. He's on the same wavelength as me, dunno if it's the Scottish connection but we both think the same way. He doesn't post as much and the place definitely isn't the same without him.

 

Paulus. As far as mods go he's alright no paulus has helped me numerous times. It doesn't stop the c**t giving me warning points mind you, why only today when I logged in as Baw he'd given me 10 warning points for comments I'd made on a lurcher tattoo and a 2 hour ban, top bloke paulus.

 

Haymin. I don't really know much about haymin but anyone willing to donate £100 to get my name Baw back is high up on my Christmas card list. what a gesture you can tell from his kindness through out the boards from that £100 to donating clootie dumplings that he's a top bloke. He's the sort that makes you proud to be Scottish. Scots are a proud nation, we stand together. Take that helicopter crash in Glasgow. A helicopter plummets down on top of a pub, could explode any second. Most folks first instinct would be to run like f**k, not the Glaswegians, they instinctively ran towards it to help, not a thought for their own safety. That's what makes us proud to be apart of, I hold Haymin in that category

 

There are plenty of others like johnnyboy, stig, newkid, Kranky, dessertbred, Riohog, gorger, hot meat, banter, pip, skycat, gem, mo, Molly, f***ing loads but I think I've waffled enough
