Ideation 8,217
Genuine question . . . Has anyone actually had a sal/bul/grey that was a 'proper' fox dog and also coursed hares to a high standard regularly? 1 Quote Link to post

Ive seen a couple that did well on fox and long gallops, litter mates to these dogs were useless at both. Quote Link to post

whitefeet4190 1,729
The problem with [BANNED TEXT] we all call a good all rounder is that they are never amazing a 1 job so when we go out with our mate on rabbit who all have rabbiting dogs we don't catch as many, and the same with the other jobs that lurchers used to have pre ban, I don't mind this but I have s dog for the quarry I run and I think it works out for the best it's not s bad thing having a couple of lurchers anyway if ur gonna have 1 u mayawswell have 3 1 Quote Link to post

I know lads, who pre ban would have a fox dog, a rabbit dog, a hare dog etc. But how much time would you need to graft these dogs? I would rather one dog about 24"-26" with brains, stamina, good feet and coat, nice long back, racey but strong with it. Capable of excelling at most tasks. And graft it hard. Put all of your time into it. The all rounder is not some mythical creature. They are out there and there is one thing they all have in common. Time. They are worked day in day out doing different tasks Quote Link to post
