Luck or expertise,Stig ?

it was black silver usually go`s black and you can feel the difference in the quality and weight without revealing the hallmarks for everyone else to see--- once I spotted it I buried it at the bottom of the box I was going to pay upto 80 quid for the lot so when I was the only bidder at a fiver I was more than happy ;)

So it owes more to sleight of hand and skullduggery? :D

On antique prog's, the amateur is discouraged from cleaning silver - they say you can get a bit heavy-handed, and the hallmarks can rub away. what do you reckon,Stig?
