5 foot is a good jump pal.

My bitch isn't keen on 5 and 7 bar gates. She can and will but pisses about.

Barbed wire or solid gates and walls she flys over.

ye if my bitch knows she cant go through a fence she will jump...

BUT she will take 5mins trying to find a way around first.....

You will soon learn the ones she will and the ones she won't jump. Just pick her over the ones you know she won't to save you waiting around.

That's what I do anyway.

Seen my whippet jump a 5 bar gate, but if he can pass through a fence next to it he will, don't get this my dog must jump 6 ft to be any good shite.as long as it can jump when it needs too then that's all that matters.I'm having to stop my 4 month old pup from jumping, she was trying to jump a gate yesterday from a river bank on to a lane.seen dogs f****d because there owners were first class Muppets with less brains then there dogs.

i wouldn't be too worried tbh...5 foot a good jump for a small dog plus they're so light there easy anoth lifted over most fences...

If you can keep up with your dog to lift it over a fence etc while on a run, why do you need a dog, get yourself a fishing net !!

My dogs all jump and jump well....take everything and anything in their stride....not jumping around here just ain't an option....

However, I'm never in a hurry to start them jumping....I have an 8 month old collie x here who has jumped nothing so far and he won't jump anything to speak of until he's around 12 months...and then within the space of 1 or 2 days he'll be capable of jumping all I'll ever need him to jump...it's the last thing I teach them...I've never seen the point in the 'party piece' robotic jumping of young pups....especially with heavy types...for me it's a no no.....

Seen a few fecked up being overmatched when they are too young and not physically or mentally capable......

see what your saying pal and i agree.......but am not sure this lads on about when the chase is on..(i may be wrong) plus a 5 foot jump should be good anoth for most fences(from round these parts anyway)...owt bigger with the amount barb wire now days i wouldn't want the jumping anyway for the sake of a bunny or you chosen prey

each to the own though..
