Its not all profit and can be hard work if you break it down to the hours you have to put in to raise a litter plus all the fees involved assuming stud, docking, jabs, kc reg, worming etc etc are all in with the price .forgot to add the cost of puppy food and then you pay for the pups to be chipped.

I paid just short of this for my bitch three years ago, it's about the care that has gone into rearing pups of this quality, the stud fee, registering, docking let alone feeding them they really are stunning the sire is also owned by Ian Openshaw the top working spaniel breeder in the country who has over 100 champions to date of springer scoffers and Labradors

Ive got a cocker by Mallowdale Gun and he is a monster! one of the biggest cockers i have seen and he is only 8 months old!

 

Even with the stud fee, registration and jabs there is a pretty penny to be made with a litter of pups. Maybe not if you count all the time you sit looking at them but if you just count the time when you actually do something with / for them then the best part of £6,000 is good money.

 

Not saying they arent worth it but i do sort of wonder where it will all stop price wise!

One pup will cover all costs then stud fee about 200 bag of beta puppy 30 odd quid which they'll only need one bag, panecure 10% about 15 quid, docking about a tenner a pup and kc papers about 12 pound a pup.

Funny how lurched and terrier lads seem to raise healthy litters for less than 650 a pup lol my lad has always wanted a spaniel, but facts are I wouldn't pay spaniel prices and by time he old enough they will be thousands lol

Go look at prices for mongrels that are in fashion labraflippingdoodles and the like see how much westies go for the price may be a bit strong for some people but there is no doubt people will pay for what they want and as I say raising a litter is not all profit but you'd think it was a crime to make money out of the time and effort in doing it.As the man says these are top bred muts from the world of gun dogs and to rear them at home takes a canny bit of work.

if it cost him four grand all in, ie rearing , jabs ,stud fee ect ect . just under two grand is a healthy profit in my opinion
