Lab 10,979
Walked a few fields tonight with the dogs local to my house and over the last few weeks ive noticed Mushrooms popping up. 20 years ago i can remember picking mushrooms with my Mum and Grandad then they disappeared. So why have they popped up again after all this time........i've always thought( why i'm not sure) that mushrooms liked a sort of damp ground but this has been the hottest summer here for a long time and the ground is bone dry. Has this been the difference? Or has the farmer done something different with the ground perhaps? Hopefully i get a chance to bump into the farmer and i'll be asking if i can fill a wee basket and get them in the dinner......

Frann 882
Interesting. Ive never really noticed a lack of mushrooms here. Can always pick a decent amount, never had a shortage. Im no expert with wild mushrooms though and prefer to buy them in the local market. At least he knows what he's picking lol Id probably pick a death cap or something lol

Ideation 8,217
Had an unreal year for edible mushrooms this year, i've picked hundreds. Definataly a lot more than previous years, more like when I was a kid.
