WILF 49,905
So, going back to my original question........are all you Unt fans as confident this season as in previous season or no different?I'm never confident mate! All I like to see is us up there challenging, if not leading then at least pushing the team or teams in front of us all the way to the wire.. Did you body swerve like that when you played Rugby mate? You get that used to being humped at everything, even when things are going kind of well you don't let yourself get carried away because you know it's all going to come crashing down round your arse at some point in the near future! It teaches you enjoy things while they last but never to take things for granted! NEWKID 28,580
Wilf, As a UTD fan i think we may struggle this season, Fergie leaving is the biggest loss to the club in as long most of us can remember.. Forget all the players that have gone, he was the club, he could reinvent and rebuild like no other... Moyes will need time, and the jury will be out for a long time, he knew he would be judged against the best when he took the job.. I don't know what the club policy on transfers were, or who made the decisions but they definitely didn't help him there at all, they've made him look inadequate already... Other clubs have been very busy in adding to there squads as well, we've still got a very good squad but certain areas needed strengthening IMO to really compete... Gnasher, Your right that perhaps UTD fans expect too much, but I guess that's what comes with success, I know that for fans like myself who do not live in the same town let alone beside the ground can not have an affiliation with a club like yourself and fans like you ( I wish I did, but Exeter City wasn't for me lol) I've supported UTD as long as I can remember I want the team to succeed but I don't expect it and it doesn't alter my allegiance if they don't have the same recent success..

What do you call " passion " ?.............I dont see how any fan can be as passionate as the fans from the club the area is in........Passionate football areas are based around the club the area is in.......in the workplace, the pubs, cafes etc..........................How can there be passionate support for Man Utd in Margate ? I dont know you from adam mate but you sound a passionate football fan like many of us........ive just never understood how passion for a club you have no affiliation to works thats all. Lab 10,979
No gnasher fergey is in the back ground believe me the yanks have not let him walk that easy. Dithering Dave Will flounder. Its not sour grapes ive had to suffer his decision making for 10 seasons. He is tactically inept A dinosaur in his methords And a control freak. Witch will not wash at carrington. I doubt he will last two seasons Nonsense!......Probably the reason Mourinho never got the job was because Man U want a manager who will stay for the duration. I reckon Moyes will be a great success. Plenty of passion in the pubs when there's a big match on round here mate! Guess in areas that aren't blessed with a proper club to support you've to to find your outlet where you can get it.. Might sound a bit hypocritical coming from me, but the one I don't understand is people living next door to a proper club choosing one at the other end of the country to support.. lanesra 4,007
When I Watch Arsenal Play No 1 Can Be More Passionate Showing Despair/Delight/Hatred & Love And I Doudt Even If I Lived Next Door To The Emirates Id Be Any Different . . Though Id Agree Living In The Area Would Give You A More Hands On Feel/Bond Towards The Club !
keepdiggin 9,567
We had no choice in our house what team you support, living in north Sheffield 90% of the people are blue, south of the city you are a pig.

I ask again though....what is passion ?......Is it ranting and raving like a lunatic at the tv......or is it doing a 500 mile round trip to watch a boring nil nil draw then doing the same thing 2 weeks later knowing it could easily be the same outcome........ I accept not everyone go,s to football and not everyone has a local club as such............................but i think often we get confused between football fans who are passionate about a club,.......and club fans who are passionate about football......guys like Malt and Lanesra, through no fault of your own id class as the latter.
