Fox With The Jrt

Recommended Posts

Dad and I went out for a bit of ferreting yesterday 'we only wanted to give a first time worker a run and see if he could bolt a couple of bunnies. We worked him with another more experienced ferret to show him the ropes. He did alright but stayed underground for 40 minutes on the first warren 'much to our displeasure. The next warren we did was only a couple of holes 'we bolted a pair one of which managed to get out of the net 'the other was not as lucky. I also took one of my JRT's out for a run. It was her first time out in the field 'she is 7 years old and was great 'she found a fox curled up sleeping in a tussock 'gave a bark and the fox woke up had a yawn 'and thats when I saw it 'the SxS was at the shoulder and 1 barrel of BBs from 30 yards sealed the deal. She also chased another fox down into a wombat hole but we were unable to get to the hole so that fox gets to live to fight another day. As we were leaving we spotted another fox trotting across a paddock 'the fox sat down and watched us for about 10 minutes then it casually walked off into the next gully

So not too much action 'but it was a good way to spend a couple of hours out in the field on a Sunday morning

I'm guessing you're either visiting the UK or don't live in Aus anymore.

No mate 'still here in Aus whys that...?

Well if it was an English wood then you must have either moved back or been visiting, unless of course you have some secret time portal in the woods - this side Aus that side Pommy land...

Yep I said it looked like an English wood and above you said it was.

That clearly indicates you're in England.

Don't be a prat! The oak saplings/ acorns came from England (as did the foxs) when we colonised the place. Technically they are English foxs and I wouldn't have thought for a minute they are happy about having them over there. Have a little think before try and tell the guy where he lives.

Nice vixen to be sure, love the short legged jrt.
