NEWKID 29,163
Stig's just done what we all would if we coul i couldnt buy my grannys house over her head .and cop the profit so the answer to my question would you do the same given the chance was no..I've owned other rental propertys and land --I`d of been far better off leaving my grand parents stuck in a cold damp bungalow and parents stuck on a shitty estate and buying a property that I could rent out ..letting them live rent free meant that they could have the extra cash in there pockets to enjoy there lifes and take extra holidays when it comes around my kids will benefit which they would of done had both my grand parents and parents been in a posisition to buy in the first place .. I`ve looked after my own and in my book theres nowt wrong in that .. as for buying the bungalow in the first place it whern`t my idea it was my granddads so in a roundabout way he`s looked after 3 generations of his family with the help of my spare cash .... I suppose you could of left it, then the council could of had it back and housed a few immigrants instead... Also you spent your hard earned to better the lives of your grandparents, parents, yourself and eventually your kids, that's what it's about isn't it? It's not like you turned up the day they died, rifled the house, changed the locks and put it up for sale before you swam off back under your rock.... So like I said earlier I can't see how your as bad... Infact I can't see how your bad at all lol.. Edited August 25, 2013 by NEWKID

Brewman 1,192
Stig helping family who looked after him = top man. My sister bought my parents house at their request so they could help another relation. My sister won't profit one penny as it will be worth less after bills have been paid but it's what you do.
mushroom 14,247
I don't speak to my family really but would I help them if requested?? Yes absolutely!! I would pay all their bills so they can be comfortable for the rest of their days and expect nothing in return Am I interested in inheritence? nope not at all I've earnt my own money, told my Gran to write me out of the will and share my cut with my kids, she refused so when it comes I will still give it to the kids. Money is an evil thing and brings out the worst in people especially inheritence causes jealousy and resentment.. Not all the time public but most of the time privately

Money without doubt brings out the worst in people, I've seen it from cheating in card games, through to "mates" going behind my back to my customers for work... This inheritance thing is just another time for people to show their true colours.....

Brewman 1,192
However my mum divvies up her estate is entirely upto her. I have a fair idea how it will be done and I'll receive very little. She hasn't divided it due to favourites but even if she did I wouldn't argue with it. She worked for everything she has and would help me if she could and I needed it so that's what counts. I always told her at the height of the boom to downsize and blow the lot on herself and me dad as you can't take it with you "oh no I can't do that it could help somebody " is still her attitude and thankfully it has trickled down to me and my siblings so we will never fall out over her will. foxtails 272
Kunts trick mate, my cousins especially are gutted, he was their grandad ( they never got to know their real one, now what happened after his death is even worse, again grab what you can and f**k everyone else)... My dad had brought my Nan an original painting from an artist in Watchet, Somerset.. As far as we know that's gone, plus a statue of a dog he gave her.. None of us know what's going on its all been taken over by the son.. I wonder what would have happened if my Nan had died last as the house etc was in both of their names... He was a lovely man my Step Grandad and lived till 91.... yep the people who knew the diceased normally get nothing after theyv helped and looked after them for years then out of the blue a family member who's never been around for years gets everything all too common these days, ( i used to live in watchet somerset, nice area near to williton) did he leave a will ? cant that person get done for theft ? my condolances to you though, sorry mate, hard times ATB MATE FTS
