I would of said my ferret box that I made probably 20+ years ago, but,I ordered a new one from 'The Ferret Box Co.' last night.A nice triple box without partitions and just the one lid(custom-they pimped my box).Oh and also one of those little bow back poacher boxes for the little forays that are best not talked about.

I'd like to think that if this topic came up in 20 years time I might still have the boxes then????? :clapper:

p.s. they are bloody cheap!! worth a look...............................Martin.

On the kit question (moving on from Chalk's 'syrup' for a min), I own a shovel I was given when I was about 18 (i'm now 40) and was very keen with terrier work. I'd moved up a few notches, had a couple of well bred animals doin the job and was digging like a fiend.

Always on the lookout for a good 'Banjo' I was given a useful looking number off a mates dad.

It done well too, always in the motor, used most weeks, wern't as big or as heavy as the Bulldogs but done well in tight or shallow spots. Dug a hell of a lot of ferrets with it too.........

Thing is, about 5 years after i'd got it, for some reason I was trying to suss out the manufacturer, Feck me, was only made in the 1950's :icon_eek: !!!! Nearley got a metal shaft put on it like the rest (my mate does 'em in EDRD), so glad I never.

Long after the rest of my shovels have gone on to 'greater things' (my mate, who still does a 'fair 'ol bit' had 'em) I can't part with this old thing, never will!

Cheers :victory:

Yes...you can't beat getting attatched to an old favourite digging tool..... like one of the family...lol..... i had one for ages until my mate left it propped up at the side of the car and we drove off. never to be seen again. Only cost me £8 years in, i think, 1998, and had scores of digs with it. I'm welling up now thinking of all the good times...... :D
