Pleased To Meet The Pianoman

Recommended Posts

Well guys finally met up with Simon AKA the Pianoman in the flesh tonight after arranging to swap stocks for our hw97k's

he seemed to like my sporter and I liked his wooden thumbhole so the deal was done, :signthankspin: over a handshake, a beer and a plink on my permission/assault course :laugh:

he wasn't too happy about having to climb barbed wire fences, but after a bit of F'ing and blinding we finally got to my target range. :whistling::laugh:

he was putting shot after shot through the same ragged hole at 35 yards with his hw97, and I didn't do too bad with mine, matching him for the first 4 shots.. I put them through the same hole, then my 5th shot went less than a pellets width to the right creating a new hole.. the best man won in the end..:thumbs:

I must admit I loved my rifle, the sweetest I had ever shot.... until I fired his..!! :icon_eek:

the tune andy has done has made a massive difference , compared to my vmach kitted rifle ..

so I think one of mine will be off to SFS when I get a bit of spare dollar, or possibly a new stage 2 tuned hw77k with laminate stock.. if I can save up :whistling:

Anyway, he really is a top bloke and it was a pleasure to have a shoot with him

Thanks again Simon

I now have a dilemma, I need a name for KaTie's twin sister.. her bigger older sister, my .22 hw97 .. im thinking KayTwo....

yeah KaTie and KayTwo.. has a good 'ring' to it :laugh::thumbs:

off for a nice soak now, then assemble KayTwo into her new stock and put a scope on her and il bang a picture up of the twins :tongue2::thumbs:

Peace lads, SKoT :victory:

Dear Skot.

Thank you so much pal  . It was a real, genuine pleasure to meet you and have a shooting session with you tonight mate. The days of yomping bloody miles with a rifle and pack on my back however, are long past me I'm afraid my bonny and, Andy has me spot on right. I am built more for comfort than speed these days. I used to fly and volt over barbed wire fences like they were nothing when I was your age but, I noticed, really for the first time tonight that, I am definitely getting on into my wobbly impending old age and I cannot get over them as once I so easily could!

Andy is a remarkable gun tech. A real master gunsmith who knows my shooting techniques and preferences backwards and sets my rifles up exactly how I want them. He's also one of my closest and dearest friends. You can't help but shoot well when you have everything set up right. He is really quite a brilliant man with tuning a spring or gas ram Weihrauch rifle.

The only thing you need to concentrate on to improve your shooting Skot, is your scope set-up. Give yourself every advantage and if your kit is falling short of that, get it sorted mate. You are a damm fine shot from what I saw and you deserve a decent scope properly matched to your eye and a sweetening tune-up of your rifles. Giving Tony at Sandwell Field Sports a call about getting you shooting to peak performance is no bad move to make.

I think I'm going to fit this beautiful stock to my HW77. My HW97K is perfect in the HW77 stock Elliott gave me (another kind man who came to my aid when I needed some help sorting this rifle out.). She too, thanks to Andy's work, is such a sweetly shooting, incredibly consistent rifle. I think she will adapt well to it. A new spring for her is on order from Sandwell Field Sports and Andy will work his magic on her once again.

I'll bring her over when she's back sometime mate and you can experience what a magnificent .22 rifle she really is to shoot.

It's true what Davy says, it's a marvelous thing to meet up and have some fun, especially when members help eachother out. I've never shot my air rifles as well since joining the forum and meeting up with some remarkable people here.

Enjoy the weekend meet Skot you are going to be among some very fine men indeed who will help you no end with whatever you need to develope your shooting.

Best wishes pal and every happiness with the KT stock.

I think I shall invest in a pellet trap/catcher target holder.. then we can get set up in the farm yard, 2 seconds from the car..

I nearly bloody killed you with all them fences :laugh:

thanks for coming, glad you like my little permission

and yeah I think with a properly tuned rifle matched with a properly set up scope I should improve my longer range shooting..

just a shame I put my pellets away, that woodpigeon we nearly stood on would have tasted nice :laugh::thumbs:

thanks for the tips, and thanks for a nice evening shooting, all the very best mate, SKoT :victory:

Thank you Skot

And PLEASE invest in that target holder fella! I'll invest in a machette! My days of wading neck-deep in reeds and nettles and getting my fat boy's arse over :censored: barbed wire fences, about 1ft in front of stone walls, are definitely past me now mate. But the walk over the grasslands and the views from the fields you have there, was lovely. Shame there isn't much sport about. The woods and fields you have to shoot over should be teeming with rabbits.

Have a great time with everyone at the meet. :victory:

Best regards Skot.

Simon
