Who Wants A Serious Working/ratting Holiday?

Recommended Posts

I'm not a ratting man, but can't knock those that are - I understand having a passion for the dogs!

This might seem a little far fetched, but there's a real opportunity for the right guys here. There's not many a place better to aware people than this forum either.

South Georgia is a seabirds paradise. Its also a British colony plagued by rats.

So much so, that they've just hit the headlines for the largest ever poison and eradication project.

Contact these guys http://www.sght.org/. They have a £2m budget towards rat eradication and they think that poison is going to work.

They'll almost certainly pay you a travel expense and you get a LOT of sport from it.

Seems far fetched, but think about it lads... There's an opportunity here.

Pet passports are far easier to get than you'd imagine, I've been led to believe.

If someone does this kinda thing full time, or for a living, or is lucky enough to be retired then this seems golden.

If it was my scene then I'd call them, ask for transport and accomodation to be sorted, and charge 30p a rat or something? Im unsure what the rates are for terrier clearance but I do know what a pest controller can charge just for a feckin' callout!

A lot of guys probably clear rats for free, just for the love?

Anyway, I hope someone gives them a call - the worst they can say is 'no'!

Read the article again folks-it has already been done. I think it was Bell laboratories the bait manufacturers that carried it out. Very effectively by all accounts.

Aye, but they've got a £2m budget to do it again in 24 months too

Sounds like they'd e grateful for the help...
