What To Do?

Recommended Posts

A little bit of land I've just got permission to shoot on is riddled with rabbits. I don't really want to shoot so many rabbits this time of year, but it's what the owner wants as he's got a few horses. Bit worried if I don't, he might get someone else to, and the land is great for corvids too.

What would you do?

Dilemmas eh?

feed the horses to your dogs and save the rabbits ..........................This is an automated response on behalf of the rabbit protection league

I'm starting to think that words like 'riddled', 'plagued' and 'over run' (i know, that's 2 words) mean 'hardly any'. I got permission to shoot a dairy farm that was , as i was told, infested with rats. First night i saw one bloody rat. Bloke in the garage near me said ' come and shoot these bloody rabbits, they're every where...............saw 2, you gotta' laugh .

I cull deer for a local farmer , he rings me "the place is running alive there must be 40" ...I think he counts the bloody legs then multiplies it by the number of ears ...40 normally means doe & fawn ..

Get stuck in walshie or you will end up loosing the permission . Everyone has an opinion on what to do but the owner has asked you to do a job  it's no good leaving some for the following season if you get fecked out of it before the season has finished .

Don't forget , I'm only a full English away no tomatoes

I have exactly the same situation controlling rabbits on three livery stable farms that are joined. I turn up and bag a couple nothing too excessive they are happy cause they know I'm doing it.

They have been approached at least half a dozen times over the last 5 years people asking for permission but I must be doing something right as they always get turned down.

My advice would be to keep showing your face and pop a couple so they can see you doing a job,
