I never thought much of wellies till I came here. Two weeks solid rain will see the best of boots struggling, never drying completely, not breathing right and, for the money we pay why put 'em through it. I now use my boots only for serious nights, everything else its wellies and boy its much better! Got to be good wellies to survive constant daily use but get 'em an save yourself the hassle an money of new boots. Mine are currently Tayberry, dunno what make unless I search, big brown neoprene jobs with a cracking sole, seen one winter out and should see a few more.

Oh yer, on the subject of laming gear, I couldn't agree with Baw more... The cheaper and lighter the better, I sweat like a feckin pig on a good cold dark night, no over wrapping myself up... As long as it just takes the chill off out the car and starts to feel cold after 100 yards, after half a mile i'm fecking boiling..!!

Stay away from cotton, T shirts/shirts/undies, once wet with sweat you'll freeze your nuts off in cold weather if you stop or slow... Best bit of kit i've ever used, Paramo Trail Shirts... Put what you like over 'em, dry an snug all night...

;)
